 Tourist numbers hit a record 2.5 million in the year to June 30th an increase of 3.6 per cent. The growth in the 12 months to June was almost exclusively from Australa with 1.12 million visitors coming from across the Tasman, representing 45 per cent of all visitors. The numbers of visitors from other countries was down.
